Case Status App
The case status app is a unique iPhone or Andriod app that can be used to view the status of your matter 24/7 and to review an outline of the upcoming steps for your case. We will begining rolling out the case status app in late April of 2018 and hope to provide all clients access to the app within 90 days.
To access the case status app, please visit the Apple App Store or Google Play and search “Case Status Legal.” Download the application and enter the cell phone number that you have provided to our office. You will then receive a text message with a code. After you enter that code, you will have 24/7 access to your case information and status right on your cell phone. Additionally, if you allow notifications, you will receive a notification anytime your case status changes or when your case is on hold because we need information or documentation from you.
Online Appointment Scheduling
It can be frustrating when you try to call your attorney and he or she is out of the office for court appearances or other obligations. On the other hand, the practice of law regularly requires attorneys to be unavailable to answer phone calls. With this in mind, we have made it convenient for our clients to schedule appointments for return phone calls or office meetings online by simply visiting www.rickdavislegal.com/appointments.
Many of the pleadings filed in legal matters are routine or look very similar from matter-to-matter. Additionally, a significant amount of time can be spent retyping basic information into legal pleadings. Therefore, we have created a database with hundreds of custom drafted legal documents and utilize technology to insert basic information into these documents. We do not utilize forms that can be purchased on the internet or that are used by other law firms. Instead, all of our court forms have been drafted by our firm and our updated on a regular basis to comply with changes in court requirements or based on experiences in other cases. Additionally, our forms automatically correct for judge and court preferences, such as adding signature lines for orders filed in Johnson County, Kansas or Missouri but not including the signature lines for similar orders filed in other Kansas Counties. By utilize these sophisticated templates and advanced document automation, we are able to work more efficiently and to spend time focusing on the important legal arguments as opposed to proper document formatting.
Digital Documents and Trial Presentation
All of our client documents are scanned and stored electronically so they are accessible via iPad. Because we do not have to carry around large boxes of files, we can be sure that we have access to all of your case documents, photos, and videos at all court appearances or mediations. Moreover, we can quickly find documents using text-based searches, which move significantly quicker than looking through boxes. Also, when the courtroom supports technology, we utilize a specialized software that allows documents, videos and other electronic evidence to be presented directly from an iPad, leading to a smoother and more professional trial presentation.
